Selecting Effective Behavioral Interventions courses are supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and provided by the National Network of STD/HIV Prevention Training Centers.
The four PTCs have scheduled well over a dozen new dates and locations for the Selecting course, specifically designed for agencies that may apply for the upcoming CDC Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) for community-based organizations (CBOs). In the July 29, 2009 Dear Colleague letter, CDC stated that the new FOA is expected to be published in the next several weeks. The primary goal of this two-day training is to provide participants with an understanding of the systematic process for selecting effective behavioral intervention(s) that best fit their community's unique circumstances and organization's capacity. Consequently, this course provides the foundation for successful adaptation and implementation. The course will familiarize participants with common terminology and concepts related to selection and the framework designed to select the most appropriate intervention(s).
